Our star executive chef, James Pronesti is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. James, or “Jimmy” as he’s affectionately known, has owned restaurants for over 15 years. As a child, Jimmy was introduced to cooking through his family and quickly realized that he could transform his passion for food into a career. His ambition allowed him the opportunity to learn the culinary arts through trial, error, and true enthusiasm. After owning and operating a successful restaurant, Jimmy decided to develop an intimate Italian restaurant along the Grand Strand that has blossomed into the now beloved, Caffe Piccolo. Jimmy continues to perfect his craft and develops unique and delicious daily specials to incorporate creativity into the Italian food we all know and love.
